Why contribute?

• SSV actions address environmental pressures that require regional attention.
  • SSV did a careful study of the demands on our natural resources, and formulated a regional approach to reduce environmental pressures through cost-effective and voluntary measures.
• SSV provides organizational support that is critical to the success of a voluntary program
  • Many organizations recognize the public pressure to be socially responsible and see the potential for cost savings through measures such as improved energy efficiency. However, institutional cultures can make change difficult and the support of partner organizations addressing similar challenges can tip the scales towards implementing successful environmental management programs.
    
• SSV successfully inspires organizations to make pledges to address environmental issues.
  • With over 50 organizations pledging to reduce CO2 emissions, and dozens more expressing interest in joining SSV's program, SSV has achieved success as a facilitator of improved regional environmental management.
