			<title>Sustainable Silicon Valley (SSV) CO2 Report 2006</title>
			<link>http://www.sustainablesiliconvalley.org/</link>
<description>In step with last month’s historic signing of the California Global Warming Solutions Act, more than three dozen of Sustainable Silicon Valley’s pledging partners are already showing exactly how reducing emissions can be accomplished, and their results are highlighted in the 2006 SSV CO2 Report released Wednesday, October 25. High tech giants such as Adobe, Cisco and HP, municipalities such as the cities of Palo Alto and San Jose and non-profits such as Acterra and the Sierra Club Loma Prieta chapter, have measured and reported on carbon dioxide emissions reductions--and the money they are saving through energy efficiency. The partners who have been tracking CO2 emissions since 2000 report a 12% reduction in CO2 emissions as compared with a regional decline of 2% during that time period. In total, SSV partners have reduced CO2 emissions by over 477,000 tons since their baseline years, the equivalent to saving 1 million barrels of oil or taking 93,000 cars off the road for a year. Visit the SSV website for the full report.</description>
