High tech giants such as Adobe, Cisco and HP, municipalities such as the cities of Palo Alto and San Jose and non-profits such as Acterra and the Sierra Club Loma Prieta chapter, have measured and reported on carbon dioxide emissions reductions--and the money they are saving through energy efficiency. The partners who have been tracking CO2 emissions since 2000 report a 12% reduction in CO2 emissions as compared with a regional decline of 2% during that time period. In total, SSV partners have reduced CO2 emissions by over 477,000 tons since their baseline years, the equivalent to saving 1 million barrels of oil or taking 93,000 cars off the road for a year.
